Upcoming schedule

We are going to be busy people this semester.
Kristen has classes on Monday and Tuesday night.
Jason has class on Wednesday night.
Jaden and Jacob have swim classes Thursday night.
Friday night is free (so far!)
Of course Saturday has soccer and Sunday has church...so that will keep the weekends busy too.

Hopefully we will handle it well and enjoy all the activities without getting too overwhelmed and stressed out.

Golf Outing with the Family

Take a look at these pictures:)
Kristen and I took all the boys over to a little 9 hole par 3 course just a couple blocks from our house. The boys had a blast!
Jaden and Jacob both had some amazing shots for the first time out and even Kristen got into the swing of things (pun intended) and hit some great shots.
They are all asking how soon they can go again :)

Letters From a Skeptic: A Son Wrestles with His Father's Questions about Christianity Letters From a Skeptic: A Son Wrestles with His Father's Questions about Christianity by Gregory A. Boyd

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
How many times has someone asked you one of the "difficult questions" of Christianity, or have you yourself asked and not received a very clear answer? Usually, it is in conversation and I know that I have a tough time being clear and articulate during a conversation...however, Greg Boyd decided to get away from that obstruction, from the issue of getting personally heated perhaps as one can in a conversation and simply write letters to his Dad to explain his faith. Over the course of 3 years, they explored many of the more difficult questions around Christianity...acknowledging when there aren't easy answers and making a solid case for why the Christian worldview really is the only one that reconciles with the historical narrative as well as with our own creation. Greg's father brings to light many of the issues that people have with the church, with religion and even with the character of God...and I think that Greg is able to answer them all with a clarity that was enabled because he had time to write out his response in a letter. It was fun to see the back and forth as well as to watch how the questions changed over time...
I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who has questions on the Christian fatih and to those that already hold to the Christian faith but have difficulty answering "hard" questions to friends and family around why you believe what you believe.

Answered prayer

We are on our way home...in the dallas/fort worth airport. At dinnertime, we sat down and, of course, the kids wanted items from different places. Now, after the first flight I would not say that Kristen or I were high on the patience meter...but, wanting a little peace during dinner, I acquiesced and got the food from the multiple locations. As Kristen and I passed out the food, Jaden bowed his head to pray and then began eating. A moment later, a God-sent messenger arrived and told us that dinner was on him and he gave me 20 dollars. He said that his dad was always nice and went to multiple locations for them and watching me do that for the kids and then seing Jaden praying..I guess it gave him a fond memory and he shared in that with us. We were all pretty floored at his gesture and it totally changed our attitudes and our outlooks for our dinnertime.
